The Warmth Between Us

I've always loved chickadees and birds in general. Ever since I can remember, I've been drawn to their songs and the wonder of imagining what life would be like if I could simply fly. That kind of freedom seemed like it would make my heart sing a song it didn't yet know, but longed to.

Whenever the weight of everyday life begins to feel heavy, I know exactly where to find peace. I step outside and listen. I watch for the birds. For a little while, the worries of the day fade into the background, replaced by birdsong, fluttering wings, and the simple beauty of nature. They have a way of bringing me back to the present and reminding me that joy can often be found in the smallest moments.

In this painting, these two chickadees remind me that while freedom is beautiful, so is companionship. Sometimes the greatest warmth isn't found in soaring alone, but in finding someone beside you to weather every season.
