Held Among The Berries
9 × 12 in.
Oil on canvas board
My husband and I spend a lot of time gathering and growing our own food making jellies, pies, and syrups from the berries on our land. Saskatoons, chokecherries, and everything we tend in the garden have become part of our rhythm.
I’ve always loved chickadees and their hardy little selves. They’re small, but strong, able to weather so much and still show up with that quiet, steady presence.
This painting was inspired by all of that… the abundance, the care, and the simple, meaningful life found in the small things.
