A Prairie Keepsake

There is something special about the things that remain behind. An old truck resting in the grass, weathered fence posts, faded blooms, and the quiet company of a little chickadee.
A Prairie Keepsake was inspired by the familiar sights that seem to hold pieces of another time.
For me, this piece also symbolizes aging. We are often made to feel that growing older makes us less beautiful or less desirable, when in many ways the opposite is true. Age brings wisdom, character, strength, and a beauty that can only come from living. Like the weathered truck and fence posts, time leaves its marks, but those marks become part of the story.
